The Sonic chain ID is 146 (0x92 in hex). Sonic is an EVM Layer 1 from the team behind Fantom. Gas is paid in S. Below are the exact settings MetaMask asks for, public RPC endpoints we tested on October 27, 2026, and a one-click button to add the network.
Sonic Network Details for MetaMask
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Network name | Sonic |
| RPC URL | https://rpc.soniclabs.com |
| Chain ID | 146 |
| Currency symbol | S |
| Block explorer | https://sonicscan.org |
Copy these values exactly. If the RPC URL returns a different chain ID than the one you enter, MetaMask stops with a chain ID mismatch warning: that usually means a typo or an RPC for another network.
Sonic RPC URLs (Tested October 27, 2026)
| RPC endpoint | Returned chain ID | Response time |
|---|---|---|
https://rpc.soniclabs.com | 146 | 325 ms |
https://sonic.drpc.org | 146 | 210 ms |
https://sonic-rpc.publicnode.com | 146 | 357 ms |
We sent eth_chainId and eth_blockNumber to each endpoint from Europe on October 27, 2026; the table lists only endpoints that answered with chain ID 146. The latest block was 81,695,897. Public endpoints are free and rate limited: for an app or a bot, use a paid provider or your own node.
How to Add Sonic to MetaMask
- Click Add Sonic to MetaMask above, or open MetaMask and go to Networks → Add a custom network.
- Enter the network name Sonic, RPC URL
https://rpc.soniclabs.comand chain ID 146. - Set the currency symbol to S and the block explorer to https://sonicscan.org.
- Save and switch to the new network. Your 0x address is the same as on other EVM networks.
Tip: Sonic is not Fantom Opera (chain ID 250). FTM holders upgraded to S on a 1:1 basis, but the two networks have different chain IDs.
Sonic Testnet Testnet
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Network name | Sonic Testnet |
| RPC URL | https://rpc.testnet.soniclabs.com |
| Chain ID | 14601 (0x3909) |

Testnet tokens come from faucets and are worth nothing. Do not send real S to a wallet connected to Sonic Testnet.
