The Monad chain ID is 143 (0x8f in hex). Monad is a high-throughput Layer 1 that runs EVM smart contracts. Gas is paid in MON. Below are the exact settings MetaMask asks for, public RPC endpoints we tested on October 27, 2026, and a one-click button to add the network.
Monad Network Details for MetaMask
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Network name | Monad |
| RPC URL | https://rpc.monad.xyz |
| Chain ID | 143 |
| Currency symbol | MON |
| Block explorer | https://monadvision.com |
Copy these values exactly. If the RPC URL returns a different chain ID than the one you enter, MetaMask stops with a chain ID mismatch warning: that usually means a typo or an RPC for another network.
Monad RPC URLs (Tested October 27, 2026)
| RPC endpoint | Returned chain ID | Response time |
|---|---|---|
https://rpc.monad.xyz | 143 | 299 ms |
We sent eth_chainId and eth_blockNumber to each endpoint from Europe on October 27, 2026; the table lists only endpoints that answered with chain ID 143. The latest block was 117,068,580. Public endpoints are free and rate limited: for an app or a bot, use a paid provider or your own node.
How to Add Monad to MetaMask
- Click Add Monad to MetaMask above, or open MetaMask and go to Networks → Add a custom network.
- Enter the network name Monad, RPC URL
https://rpc.monad.xyzand chain ID 143. - Set the currency symbol to MON and the block explorer to https://monadvision.com.
- Save and switch to the new network. Your 0x address is the same as on other EVM networks.
Tip: The Monad testnet (chain ID 10143) and mainnet (143) are different networks. Testnet MON from faucets has no value.
Monad Testnet Testnet
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Network name | Monad Testnet |
| RPC URL | https://testnet-rpc.monad.xyz |
| Chain ID | 10143 (0x279f) |
| Currency symbol | MON |
| Block explorer | https://testnet.monadexplorer.com |
Testnet tokens come from faucets and are worth nothing. Do not send real MON to a wallet connected to Monad Testnet.
How to Get MON on Monad
The widget at the top of this page is set to swap into MON on Monad: pick the token you have on another network, enter your address and sign once. Routes, fees and timing are covered in our Monad bridge guide.
