Every EVM network has a chain ID: a number written into each signed transaction so it cannot be replayed on another network. The table lists the main chain IDs; each network page has the full MetaMask settings, public RPC URLs we tested on October 27, 2026 and testnet details.

FAQ

Where do chain IDs come from?

Each network picks its own number and registers it in the public chain list (ethereum-lists/chains). Wallets reject an RPC that reports a different ID than the one you enter.

Is the chain ID the same as the network ID?

Not always. The chain ID (EIP-155) is used for signing transactions; the older net_version network ID can differ on some networks. Wallets use the chain ID.
